Category 6 & OM4 Multimode Fibre Optic Installation & Termination
In May 2016, we completed the installation of inter-cabinet Category 6 and OM4 backbone network links at a Data Centre in Slough.
Our client had existing equipment, but they required us to install Cat 6 & OM4 multimode fibre optic link cabling between various cabinets to support their SAN and Network equipment.
We installed approximately 300 Category 6 HellermannTyton Network Sciences copper panels to panel ports and 320 pairs of OM4.
The OM4 links are capable of supporting Gigabit ethernet speeds of up to 40Gb/s and the copper Cat 6 will support 10Gb/s Ethernet.
The patch panels are labelled front & rear with engraved labels to ease with future identification.
All of the cabling was tested using our Fluke Certification tester and was completed in tight timescales in order to meet the customers deadlines.
